Hello all-- Hope someone can help me out here. I've got 20,000 email messages in a locally stored mail folder in Mail.app called "Archive." I'm running 10.5.1 mail
I had to wipe my hard drive and restore from a Time Machine backup. (I did a full backup right before the wipe.)
After the restore, Mail.app acted like it needed to import messages again. I thought, "That's weird" and skipped it. Now Mail.app won't see the 20,000 archived emails. Nor will Spotlight find them when searched from Mail.app's toolbar. (It still finds them if i search from the main menu bar.)
The messages are still there. i can see them in the Finder. But Mail.app can't see them. And every time I try "Import...", whether as an mbox or a mail from a previous version, it crashes Mail.app.
The weird thing is if I Turn Time Machine on while in Mail.app, the 20,000 messages pop right up in the (Now) setting but are invisible if I go back to previous versions. I can't restore them either. (Restore choice is grayed out.)
Anyone have any ideas how I can get this resolved? It's making me crazy!
