I have a G3/400 and a PowerTowerPro 200 on an ethernet network. Our file sharing gets interrupted several times a day with the message that the server (PowerTower Pro) has shut down and cannot be used. The PTPro is not actually shutting down, I can just no longer access it. If I go to the PTPro and turn file sharing off and then back on I can access it again thru the chooser. Both computers run system 8.6. We also have a printer on the network and have no problems with the printer.

TIA, Mark Miller

Is the PowerTowerPro going to sleep at the moment you get that message? Use the Energy Saver Control Panel to make sure that it can't go to sleep.
