You may be referring to the so called Pal or iPal. Here is the link from Macwhispers that tells about the enclosure that Apple has in production but as yet to unveil.

http://www.envestco2.com/macwhispers...?id=51_0_1_0_C

There was also a concept drawing based on these spec at SpyMac.

Personally I would love to have a 5x7 notepad to write with, do mock ups, etc. The one rear opening without a cover is approx. the same size as an iPod. This would be a great marketing ploy to increase iPod sales. You pop in your iPod to add more storage. This also would allow the much hoped for video iPod more or less. If you want a color screen and videos you would have to purchase both devices.

Who knows what Christmas might bring. It is the year for Apple gadgets.

Well , year for laptop or gadgets...I don't know.
That was not what I was looking for. This gadget has come and gone. I don't think it is in production anymore....
Don't know if it was an apple thing. maybe it was philips or something. you can get them on ebay, but I just can't find them there any more...dang!

Maybe you were referring to the Siemens SIMpad? Here is one link I found.

It is a review from May 2002.

I want to wait until after Sept Macworld. You know, just in case dreams do come true. But I think I could be waiting forever for Apple.

As far as syncing the Zaurus there has been some progress in that area recently, but I plan on using wi-fi for connectivity. I want a portable device to write with and to hold e-books etc.

I loved my Visor but it is only OK for quick notes. But I have read a lot of books on it.

I have tried to update it to use applications like Jot but it won't work. The world has past it by.

I think it would be great to have a device that is open source and there is an abundance of applications for the Zaurus. Metrowerks just announced Code Warrior for it this week.

As far as weight is concerned its lighter than my iBook or my 17" PB.

wow...interesting things here, but not what I was looking for.

This thing was like a wacom touchscreen, but much much cheaper, and smaller...10inch screen or something like that maybe__
