I've got a PB Ti 800, and my audio balance keeps on adjusting itself! Sometimes it moves 20% to the left, and other times it moves to the right. It does this with no discernible pattern. I only use the headphone jack (no USB speakers), and this is getting really annoying. My computer used to do this on a previous version of OS X (10.1.x I think...), and it has started to do it again. (I have OS X 10.2.6 installed now)

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Also happens to me on my 12" PB. It only happens when you plug something in on the audio out jack/port (what ever).

Kinda strange.

Kinda strange.
Yeah, it used to only happen when I plugged/unplugged stuff from my analog audio jack, but now it happens randomly. I don't even have to unplug/replug my headphones to shift the audio balance.

There's an Apple note on it in tech support. It happens when you change the volume with the 'F' keys while there's a high CPU load.

I got this with my iBook 800, it happens with my new 12" as well, very strange bug.

It doesn't seem to have any relation to OS version. The relationship with CPU load may be true, but I've never really tried to correlate occurrences with causes.

So that explains why it happens to me whenever I am working. It sounds like an odd reason though...
