Does anyone have an external HD, not portable, from LaCie or SmartDisk?

I am in the market for an external Hardrive with around 160GB +- either Firewire or USB2.0, and was looking at SmartDisk (non-firelite) and La Cie. Anyone have any of these products and can maybe tell me which one is better, or if you have a different brand.
Thank you!

I have Lacie d2s and I love them. The construction is very solid (I've dropped several)

Good timing as I was going to ask this same question earlier today. Specifically, should I go with the Porsche unit or the d2? Can the Porsche unit stand on its side like the d2? I want about an 80gb just for backing up my PowerBook.

I have a D2 and am going to get another drive and am very VERY attracted to the Porsche drive. Someone told me they're not even metal though... just silver plastic. Is that true? And if so are they still nice? Help me out here?

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

I have a Lacie d2 160 gig@7200 and it's great; they didn't have the new design in AppleStore Tokyo yet. Works great, looks great.
