1) -non dock related question- Will my iPod mini charge connected to my PB thru USB2 when the lid is closed and the PB is sleeping?
2) Does the iPod mini dock include a seperate cord that plugs into a power outlet, so I can charge my iPod, sans computer?
What are the advantages of owning the mini dock, besides the obvious convienance factor involved in just dropping it into the dock to transfer music?
Thanks,
Noah

1) Yes. Newer Powerbooks supply power while sleeping provided they are plugged into AC.
2) No. The dock is just a fancy stand. There are no advantages other than it being kind of cool and slightly more convenient than plugging in manually.

Ack, what a waste of money! It's definitely not worth my $50+ Cdn.
It would have some use if the dock could power the iPod mini thru a cord connected to a power outlet, but since it cannot do this, this is one accessory that seems dissapointing and useless.

Who said it can't? It absolutely can. Run the cord from the AC adapter to the dock, then drop your mini in the dock.

Edit: you can also just run the cord straight into the iPod from the AC adapter... however to me dropping it in the dock is more convenient and looks better.
Edit take 2: I'm such a douche.
