I've been trying to find a program that will do this, but no luck so far. Does anyone know of a program that will let me give a set specific images, and tell when to apply each of them to the desktop? I'm amazed if there isn't something like this out there somewhere...

OSX. Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver.

Maybe I need to be more clear--I would like to find a program which lets me say "at 8:00AM apply x.jpg to the desktop, at 12:00PM apply y.jpg to the desktop, at 6:00PM apply z.jpg", etc. I'm aware of the one built into the system prefs, but I'm hoping to find something more specific as far as times and picking images.

Thanks for the quick reply, though.

You could maybe do it with an AppleScript, or Automator.

yeah, i'm convinced croning an applescript would do this.

Can automator actions be set to run at set times or would you need to cron this as well?

You'd need cron or iCal to launch the script at the proper time.
OS X: Where software installation doesn't require wizards with shields.

Yeah, all of that is beyond me--I was hoping for a simple program to manage it. Thanks for the input, please bump this thread if anyone finds out about a program which fulfills this need.

Search Versiontracker and Macupdate -- I KNOW that programs like that existed in the past.
