How do you post an image on this thread of the powerbook setup... and since I'm a newbie on Mac's and we're on the subject of posting images... how do I cut and paste and resize and image so it isn't so big but at a more managble rate when I email someone. That attachment thing, blows it up to 7.2 mp. Help!!!

Yeah, it is the jerker from Ikea. I just gave that one away too, and got a different desk. It served me good though.

I have too much fun with the giant pictures... Any way to use the HTML tags to resize the IMG such as <img src="blah blah blah" width=x height=y></img>

The powerbook setup:

I really like the Dell 2005, but alas mine came with backlighting problems and it was so hard to get Dell on the phone to pick it up for a return, I opted for a refund instead. The entire lower left side and the top two corners all had a milky white glow to them. It's a shame really, besides that , a wonderfull monitor.

So order another?

Also, it's pretty easy to get a exchange through dell's online chat.

Yea, I agree with Ciber. The 2005FPW has 3 year warranty, just make Dell get you the right one that you are satisfied with =D

I am absolutely 100% in love with that setup. How'd you secure the router and such to the bottom of the desk?

EDIT: Nevermind, I looked a little closer and think I figured it out, now I'm curious as to where you got the desk

The only one concern I'd have with that setup (and it is sweet) is that placing your PowerBook on top of a subwoofer might not be a great thing to do. It might vibrate your hard disk to death.

And depending on the subwoofer's design, magnetic interference might be an issue for the HDD too.

Here's a "whole room" pict

Fusion:

That is an adorable dog.

One concern of mine is that your powerbook is on top of the subwoofer. I didn't even think about it being vibrated to death (like another user mentioned earlier), but was thinking that the subwoofer is basically a giant magnet (unless that sub I see is a neato velodyne servo-controlled sub). I don't know how well they're 'shielded'.. if anyone knows for sure, I'd love to know. Otherwise, you have a badass setup!

Fusion...

I just saw that Calvin and Hobbes book on your bookshelf! Nice. It is my inspiration for my nickname here (and on just about every other board I am a member of).

It was either spiff or Tracer Bullet.

Fusion,

My god...please tell me your Mac Mini does more than act as a book end. If it needs a good home, I know someone who'd treat it well

I must say, both of your setups are very clean and too my liking, though I prefer the Jerker to the new desk. Think I'll get one.

My Setup. It's a bit old : The Tibook has been replaced by my company 15" Albook, I've gotten a spare sun sparcstation 5 (headless X terminal), and the tmobile has been upgraded to a tmobile sidekick 2. Oh, and the Linux server is now a 580GB mythtv server

Here's a pic anyway.

I have found the perfect desk, it will match any PowerMac or PowerBook perfectly. It is made of solid aluminum. Problem is it costs $2895

that's a great desk, but for the money...
i'd rather have a second powerbook and a cheap desk...
or 2 weeks in mexico and a new ipod

(etc etc)

I think the desk is kinda interesting, tons of unfinished metal just aint my thing though, even stainless steel appliances remind me too much of the stuff you see in a morgue o_O No thanks!

One of my favorites was Jack Campbell's version of the MacTable -- it was big, heavy, and made of glass.. but the smaller versions looked way too ... out of scale o_O

Either way, most desks are neat, though I prefer *tables* as in nothing above and preferably not below because those cubbie things are kinda limiting.
Aloha
