Hey guys,

I'm running 10.2.8 on a Powerbook 17" 1ghz (Original model) and ever since installing the update for .8 the DVD Player hasn't worked.

Every time I fire it up, with or without a DVD inside the machine it "unexpectedly quit[s]." I tried playing a DVD with VideoLan and it worked.

I trashed the preferences for the DVD Player.app, I fixed permissions, I ran fsck -y from single user mode, I used pacifist to find the dvdplayer.app inside the OS X CD, replaced all of the DVD files, and still no go.

Any other ideas you guys might have? I called Apple and they are as stumped as I am. The guy said that I could either:
1. Do an archive install
2. Wait for 10.2.9 since it "may or may not be related to 10.2.8."

Anyone else experience this problem since installing that beast of an update? Any help?

My DVD worked great, but because of kernel panics, Apple had me re-install 10.2.7 .

I had been using 10.2.8 for awhile using the chalkboard font for some brochures, but lost it on the re-intall.

Do you or anyone have the chalkboard font that you could e-mail me.

thanks
