I run an open Airport Software Base Station in my apartment. How can I find out how many (and who) people are using my SBS?

I don't use Aiport but there should be a way to get the DHCP list of all connected users. This won't identify people but you can get a count of how many people are connected. Why don't you enable WEP and give it a password. You can give the password to friends who are allowed to be on your network. I believe the AEBS has WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy).

Sorry to be so useless. Maybe a fellow airport person can help you out more-

If your Mac has a B (not G/extreme) wireless card, you can use KisMac to view the clients using your access point. But that might be a little advanced for some users.

You have an opportunity to set up a PASSWORD when you set up a SBS, just like with an ABS, don't you.

One answer then is: there are at most as many people using your SBS as you gave your password to!
