Moreno, gonnae no dae that! (Actually, that probably won't mean much to folk outside the UK!). Double post's bad enough without them both having huge pictures, but I digress.
What I really wanted to ask was: What build is that? I thought the only ones that allowed dock re-orientation were 4f8 and 4k17? Those don't look like either.

sorry the double post, ... maybe i have clicked two times in the submit button.
is the build 4K17. runs very well but the spinning cd cursor appears major of times on carbon apps.
NOTE: in the shot all the 12 videos play at the same time, with no glitches. However, when i closed quicktime, the others aplications had been wild, and i forced to restart to reuse quicktime

OOHHH seeing that brushed aluminum interface of iTunes next to the aqua makes the aqua look cheap. Kind of like setting an iMac next to a Ti book. Now if they'd just make the WHOLE interface Titanium, mmmmmmmm that would be cool..

I've never understood the point of weather software. What is the point of having constant updates on the weather when you're *inside* on the computer? If I want the weather I'll turn on the Weather Channel.
Son of Weather Grok is a way weird name too.
nice pic though!

No offense, but isn't your tv inside, too?
It's better than the Weather Channel because you don't have to wait 30 minutes for your local weather, wait through commercials, and no irritating muzak, but to each his own. I think it's a nice piece of freeware.
I'm way off topic here.

cough, I forgot about that.
On the other hand I think it's quicker to turn on the TV as you're going out than dial up (most people are still on dial up) and fire up a strangely named app to check the weather.
but yes, we're WAY off topic

As a pilot, having a constant eye on the weather is a nice thing. And SOWG uses standard airport reporting stations. A high bandwidth connection is nice too.
(But I have a personal animosity towards the work "grok".)

Here's mine:
http://homepage.mac.com/jawz/OSXwOS9icons.jpg
A little background:
I hacked the HIToolbox.rsrc file and replaced OS X's icons with their OS 9 equivalents from http://xicons.com/ ; I just don't like X's.
Also, if you look at the user's window (note how nifty it is that the menu lines up with the window -- what a coincidence, eh? ), you'll see that I've done some NetInfo hacking, as well. 'Pretty Good Jokes' and 'Satellite of Love' aren't valid usernames, but I wanted normal text to show up in the "Mount volumes" window, not 8-character usernames. If someone knows of an easier way to do this, feel free to let me know!

Justify my text? I'm sorry, but it has no excuse.

Wow. X looks so much more Mac-like with good-old platinum icons. Does anyone have a patcher to insert old style icons or am I going to have to figure out how to do this on my own.

Thanks! Glad you liked it.
There's another thread started by 'theMexican' that explains how to do it; basically, you grab this utility called "QuickConvert" that takes the .rsrc file and copies the data from the data fork to the resource fork (allowing you to edit it with Iconographer) and back again when you're done.

No screen shot can be trusted for proof of version.
I found the file that lists what build number that shows in the "About This Mac" dialog. Any one can edit the file. You dont even need photoshop.

idrive stinks! Sorry 'bout the previous link. I opened up a temporary geocities account and posted a half-@$$ page with the same screenshots here. I'll update the link above as well.

Thanks. I made the background pic, got bored one day. I got a few more like that. I was thinking of posting them on that temp geocities site for download once OS X is released. We'll see.

I find them useful for the roughly 10-15 minutes a day I am outside.

The app on the left is drop drawers and you can change the background on the dock by edit some pdf images. Locate the dock and the images to edit is right, middle and left.pdf. the path is to dock.app: /System/Libare/CoreService/Dock.app. Check the content of that app and you will fint the images.

I'mDaMac, How on earth did you get the brushed metal effect on all windows? Is there an existing hack, or did you have to do it yourself editing all the files with that one program?
I would KILL for that window look.

One of my OS X desktops is here.
The background picture is a photography made by a graphic art professor of mine. I think that this wet car glass was pretty "aqua" !
I felt in love whith these beautiful icons ( of Aqua" by Dave Brasgalla). I found them at iconfactory.

No, not DOS (default was white text). Didn't you ever see old VT100-220 terminals around?
For another fine shot of 'green on black'... http://homepage.mac.com/batguano/images/screen.jpg
I used to put my Dock on the right, 'till I found NexBar.

This is visually cluttered, I admit, but where else do you find this variety
of application support, sitting in your basement.
It does dig a little into the swap, as well!
