Hey guys,
Every time I start up my Powerbook G4 (17", Rev A), I get a weird purple/white flash in the left hand corner after the Apple-logo-and-gong-screen. Any ideas? Everything works fine, I was just wondering if there's anything I can do to make it stop. It only started happening after installing APEs or Shapeshifter (I think). I have uninstalled them, but that has not corrected the problem.
Thanks

Maybe Tiger will fix it? Here's hoping.
It seems to me that it is a video card issue, but I cannot pin it down.

It's the driver initialization that causes the flash.
If you've ever run Linux on an older book, like a TiBook or Dual USB G3 iBook, it's even worse (since most of the drivers are not written by the company that made the graphics card.) It just varies based on the manufacturer of the card and what happens when the specific driver kicks in.
