Are their any free compilers or debuggers that will let my programs swing to Windows and Unix based stuff? I just need to do generic programming for class the usual have them enter 2 numbers and the computer add them and stuff. Just so i can program then upload to the system after.
Thanks

Yes - If you install the Developer Tools you Get GCC - The GNU C Compiler and GDB - The GNU Debugger.

Yep... Apple Dev. Tools are about the best "free" development kit out there.
As long as you stick to straight ANSI C and use only the standard (non Cocoa/AppKit) headers and libs, you should be just fine to compile it on (almost) any other machine w/ GCC.

Java would probably be easier. Then you don't even have to worry about compiler switches.

Thanks
If you are considering doing any of this in Java, I would recommend checking out http://www.netbeans.org/.
Bear in mind that I'm currently at the very beginning of learning to program, so I haven't attempted to use Netbeans for anything remotely complicated just yet.

GCC, as mentioned earlier, comes with mac os x (and is a no-cost download from apple's developer site). there are versions made for virtually every platform available, including Unices and Windows (of course, these versions aren't available from apple, but instead from the source).
if your program is that simple (take two numbers, add em and spit the result), you may want to use a scripting language instead, like perl or even a shell, like bash. Perl is available for all kinds of platforms, and bash is too.
