So I finally went out and got a wireless network card for my TiBook. I went with a PMCIA card because it's going to be newer technology than an Airport, will probably get better reception, and is probably cheaper!! (supply and demand is a crazy game, eh?)

I pushed the card into the slot on the side of the powerbook but nothing happens. No lights come on (on the card), no windows pop up on my mac, nuthin'. Am I missing something? Is my PMCIA slot dead? I'm hoping not... how could I check this? (I no longer have the hardware check CD-ROM)

Thanks folks...

Edit: I suppose that I should mention this, when I plug the card in, an icon comes up on the menu bar and shows the grayed out options "Airgo", "AG100 Wireless Lan Adapter", and "Power off Card" So evidently we're working. Maybe this card is just not compatible?

It is a Belkin Wireless Pre-N Notebook Network Card model # F5D8010
The box says nothing about it being MacOS X compatible so maybe I failed before I hit the checkout. Thoughts?

I also just realized it's PCMCIA. Forgive me.

It depends on the chipset.
Here's a retail product but if yours has the right chipset, some open source stuff is available.

I despise and boycott all belkin products.

Search for something like 802.11b card on Mac OS X on google.

OSX's support for wifi cards is quite limited; I don't think it supports any of the Pre-N cards.
