I tethered my iPhone's 3G connection using PDANet and can browse fine but when trying to use Skype or Everquest they're unable to connect. Mainly interested in getting EQ working. I can get past the initial connection test but the login server is never found.
Are there any limitations to the iPhone's data connection or ranges of ports that are closed?
BTW the area I'm in is using EDGE.

Any ideas? It's been a long time since I hacked my Sharp Zaurus and did a lot of unix shell cmds.

My understanding is that this is all going through a proxy, so you need to look into using your proxy tunneling in system preferences, networks.

I'll look into tweakin those settings.
I played EQ via Bluetooth->Nokia->Edge connection for 6 months without issue (cept nokia OS would crash rarely) in Italy.
It only needs a 28.8 connection in theory.
