No, I'm not leaving 'NN.

But Terrell Owens is leaving Dallas.

Jerry Jones may finally be getting it. The Cowboys' decision to release Owens late Wednesday night had to be difficult for the Cowboys' owner. But it was the right move. So was the earlier decision to release Adam "Pacman" Jones.
Will teams who take on problem players such as Owens and Jones ever learn? Obviously this isn't just a problem in football, but also in football/soccer, NBA, MLB, etc.

Especially considering the current economic situation, will teams ever stop blowing money on big-name players with a high price tag and even higher risk of imploding their teams? Is there any sense to taking on these players in the first place?

Anyways, consider this Cowboys fan a happy man.

I'm disappointed that they cut them. It was like watching a soap opera.

I suppose, I'll have to wait till I see where he lands next and watch him torch his coach, and QB

He can throw himself a party at Dennis Rodman's house.

The only "problem" player that I can think of that a team picked up that payed off was da Bulls and Dennis Rodman.

Edit: Oh crap, I see OlePigeon mentioned Rodman already.

It would be nice to see the Bengals pick him up if only for the sheer chaos that would result from having Ocho-Cinco and T.O. on the same team.

Which is great fun if you're not a Cowboys fan, but for those of us who are, we've been wincing after every game in anticipation of the moment he's going to derail the season.

Would you blame all that on Owens? Yeah Romo had to feed the beast, but it was after all a beast. I don't know if the Cowboys' problems were because of him (although couldn't say that he helped at all)....

Considering that TO has been "released" from three teams, I highly doubt it has much to do with Romo.

Rush Limbaugh agrees with you. He says you can make book on Michael Vick throwing to T.O. in Oakland next season.

Blame it all on him? Nope.

But the Cowboys were off to a good start this past year until T.O. started complaining about Romo targeting Witten too often (after a win, BTW).

You know, I've heard this a few times and I have a hard time buying it.

I mean, I'm sure Owens had some affect, but to say "oh he started complaining and we subsequently sucked for the rest of the season?"

Not that I'm a TO defender or anything, but let's face it: despite their initial start the Cowboys had many problems this year, and IMO blaming your top-tier receiver for his off (and some on, admittedly) field antics doesn't acknowledge your coaching, quarterback and defensive issues.

Interesting move, with him in the receiving corps the Bills are back to being a serious contender in the AFC east conference. They seem to have a decent quarterback, now a deep threat. The jets, pats and to a lesser extent the dolphins are more rounded teams but who knows, after years of seeing only the pats as a contender in the AFC east, things suddenly got more interesting.

I suspect he'll be on his best behavior, at least for the beginning of the year, if the QB starts faltering and they start losing, all bests are off.

I think maybe what happened is that TO wants to be the biggest ego in town, and he's finally realized that's easier to do if you're in a smaller town. He's not even the biggest problem on the team, since Marshawn Lynch keeps doing stupider things.

when i heard the news i was going crazy, i would say 9/10 bills fans that i have talked to are really pumped. The last time the bills received this much (national) media attention was in the early 90s, this instantly put buffalo back on the map in the NFL, good or bad.

that said... im pumped! lee evans and TO, who do you double cover? this should open up things for lynch as well. and if things do go badly... well its only a 1 yr deal.

Nobody, since after Edwards goes down with another concussion, Ryan Fitzpatrick will be too busy dodging sacks to throw the ball.

(Sorry, but this Bills fan thinks TO will quit on the team mid-season if they don't make any more improvements, especially to the O-line....)

Unless Rush Limbaugh is right, and some NFL team (probably the Raiders) takes a chance on both T.O. and Michael Vick in 2010. Heck, when does Ocho CInco's contract expire?
