I want to have a M$ free laptop and therefore was thinking of replacing IE 5.1 with Netscape 6.2. I am currently running OS 9.2.1.

What are your impresions on Netscape 6.2 for Classic OS? Is it stable enough?. How does it compare with IE 5.1?

Thanks

A good friend of mine loves 6.2, I prefer Netscape 4.7.x (for pre-X systems).

You might also check out other browsers like iCab. I've been very impressed with improvements, as well as the speed.

I would skip Netscape and go with Mozilla. Netscape uses Mozilla's rendering engine, but is always a number of versions behind Mozilla. Download and try the latest milestone release 0.9.8. I think you'll like it.

The user wants an MS-free computer. Very commendable.

IE is NOT all that great anyway.

No way! Mozilla 0.9.8 has been more stable and compatible with webforms and submissions than IE 5.1. Pick this browser up. If you need something that doesn't take a lot of memory use iCab.
