Does anybody have some info on that ? It would be truly great
to have Altivec support for UT. Is this realistic or do we have to wait
for UT 2 , which won't be released for least one year.

We will probably have to wait. It would be awesome though. Too bad only Q3 has the Altivec support in the works. Oh well, UT is still the best game around.

So far only Quake 3 has altivec "planned". Looks like you'll have to play the best of the FPS games for altivec support. Quake 3 is faster than UT even without Altivec, so if you want to see real physics and speed check it out now.

I have Q3, and I think it's more boring than mud.

I knew someone would bite! I just said that to ruffle some feathers...

I like both UT and Quake 3, each seem to have their own strenghts and weaknesses. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Quake because it has a better engine, more realistic physics, and faster gameplay. But I'd still miss UT.

I have both games, and I did choose. UT is no longer even installed on my machine.

For q3 fun, come by the clan server... www.aswp.net

lol, UT is for newbies, Quake is for more seasoned players. I was very pro-UT when I first got my Powermac, but now the only FPS I ever launch is Quake. It simply has more replay value.

Plus I can't stand the canned "quips" that UT has. After hearing "die, bitch" for the 10000th time, I couldn't take it anymore.

If you want UT or even Quake for that matter, you can email me, too. I've got some extras that a friend left here by mistake, and this friend is now in Africa, so he won't be playing computer games anytime soon.

So you'd rather hear "nice shot" 10000 times?

Quake 3 is crap.

It is soooo boring. No fun whatsoever. No rush. Crappy weapons... nice phsics (woohoo! that makes my day! )... Heh.
The UT phys is fine, it runs fast... I don't see the big deal about Quake. I can't stand it. Its gone from my HD.
