Has anyone heard any news on when will the Mac version of SimCity 4 Rush hour expansion pack be released?

The current estimation we have is ~~ June 30th. Lately though, some of the Aspyr games have been coming out earlier than initially projected, so it could be sooner. Could be later too

i had gotten worried for a while, given that Aspyr consistently fails to mention it when they're talking to IMG or whatever about product status and stuff, or on their newsletters. But it's still on their website as 'summer', so here's hoping...

We're working away on it, the development has been slower than we'd hoped both because of the complexity of the new code (it has a lot more code changes than most expansion packs) and shifting resources on several projects that were farther along when we started Rush Hour.

On a similar note, does Sim City 4 run well on OSX? Talking 1.33 ghz powerbook or something similar.

Thanks for replying!

It's good to hear that it's still progressing (and i guess it's not surprising that it's so difficult, considering how much new good stuff is in it). Looking forward to it!

Michel: I suspect it should run fine on a new PowerBook; i run it primarily on an 867 TiBook which runs adequately with mid-level details on large cities up to ~800k population. I've never run it under OS 9 for comparison (does it even work under 9? i don't know...).

Finally, 1 October is the shipping date!

Why does it take so long (for an expansion pack)? Railroad Tycoon 3 took only 2 weeks from announcment to shipping...

It's been so long of a wait, I'm not even interested in this game anymore...
