Perhaps its a vendor of theirs not meeting schedules? As in they are just rebranding a unit from some other company that OEMs their stuff?

Good! Finally...

Would someone who have one put in a quick review here, especially on the AM reception?

1st Review:

The Good: The design and the cool blue light

The Bad: The reception and the annoying noise

I had high hopes for this product but my crappy alarm clark radio picks up more stations and has better reception than this $69 plastic fin.

The most annoying thing is the feedback noise. Even when I choose the clearest station, there is this awful noise that feeds back. I can't even describe the sound but it drives me crazy. there is no way I would capture this poor audio to playback on my ipod.

I called griffin tech support and they said that I was the very first person to call for tech support about this product. the guy told me to return it and try another one.

I hope to hear some more reviews

Thanks for the review. And sorry the first model was so sub-par. Let us know how the second one sounds....

What does the included software look like?

Can you post a few screenshots? If needed, I can host them, if you PM me.

Does have any idea as to when this might hit third party distributors (such as MacMall)?

And, about that: if I ordered it from MacMall when they had the price as $50, but now they've increased the price to $60, do you think that they will up my price?

Picked one up at the Apple Store today, and it works perfectly!

And by perfectly, I mean the stations that come in clearly using my handheld radio and my alarm clock also come in clearly with the RadioShark.

The software has a little work to be done in terms of setting up schedules, but boy, this thing is one of the best accessories I've ever bought for my Mac.

Griffin just released a new version of the software (v 1.0.3) today

Check it out in their software page:
http://www.griffintechnology.com/sof...adioshark.html

According to this MacCentral article, Griffin have "dramatically" improves AM radio performance and reception, adds an "on/off" option for the blue light on the side of the radioSHARK antenna, and makes a number of bug fixes.

Can someone try it out?

There is an article about the radio shark in ipodlounge's new buyers' guide (downloadable PDF file). It received an A- grade there. Have a look at ipodlounge.com
