Is there anyone knows what happen to MacOSRumors for the past week? I haven't been able to get to their website lately, and I got the following message when I try to connect it for the last day or two:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.macosrumors.com Port 16080
Anyone knows what's going on?

They have a lot of downtime. They usually proclaim that they have rebuilt the site from ground up, offering enhanced features soon. Whatever. Their accuracy is way down anyway. Luckily there are more accurate alternatives.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I hope he doesn't ask for donations to keep his lies running.

I think it's funny how you keep referring to MacOSRumors as 'they'. It's one guy that wants us to think it's a big, professional organization.

Yep. Like this thread that I started a while back.

I really like the MacOSRumors site, but it is frequently unavailable-- every year it has the same problem with hosting and it's often down a few times a year too.

The alternative "MOSR.com" domain was also dropped, with a claim that it was part of a "big plan" for the future. Exactly how can losing a great short domain name be part of a "big plan" for the future, unless you're planning to shut down...

There have also been many promises that never came to be, erratic updates and on top of that the site asks for "donation". Even Apple Turns has poked fun at this...

Now as to whether MacOSRumors is run by one person, a few, a kid or whatnot- - a "big, professional organization" it is not!
- - in fact, I'd say it'd be more impressive if it was just one guy or even a kid!

It is unfortunate but it seems as though MOSR, like the cockroach in a 10 megaton blast, refuses to wither away and die.

I figure that Meader accidentally spilled the contents of his juicebox all over the keyboard of his iMac and had to borrow $40 from his mom to buy a new one. He's back, reporting rumors of highly questionable accuracy that make it to all the other questionable websites first...

He is still plugging an almost ready new site design, still begging for money and now he claims that the 970 may or may not be called the G5, that Panther will support new hardware but not necessarily G2 machines which are now what, 5 - 7 years old, and that Panther may or may not support Piles.

I think that whoever the hell Evert Smit, Martin Schroeder, and Rory McDonald are, they need to do something better with their allowance than spend it on Meader's stupid website.

Check out this line from this months update:

"What we saw in the brief few minutes our reporters were allowed to play with Panther is pretty heavily embargoed until more details of Panther become public"

That is almost as pathetic as something Superchicken would say!

He "played" with it yet he has absolutely no info on it other then it MIGHT not have piles.

I don't know why you guys keep on talking smack about his site. If it is that bad then don't read it.

I read it for entertainment value . I enjoy it.

I just think its funny that MOSR was allowed to play with Panther but yet MacNN or MacCentral or another decent Mac-news site wasn't.
