I run into some font problems. It seems when I try to generate PDF from distiller or generate AdobePDF driver (or both OS 9 and X), it seems it doesn't like TrueType font very much (It complaints with error when it try to embed some of those fonts). That would even happen with fonts as common as Helvetica Bold Italic.

Is it true that Distiller are picky with TrueType fonts?

Also, is there a way where I can obtain free PostScript font, so that I can avoid those problems (I hope it would work?)? At least for the 35 Adobe common Type 1 fonts?

last question is an easy answer...
Adobe fonts are never free... although the price has come down a bunches.

I have not seen this trouble with TrueType fonts.
I use a bunch of self modified, third party, and PC converted fonts all without issues.

Are you running Extensis Suitcase or some other font management program?

this is very elementary so if you've done it please don't take offense � often these problems are easily solved.

have you assigned the font locations? if not, just hit "command + L" in distiller and show the app where to find the font(s) you're having issues with.

if you've done this, what is the EXACT message you get?
