what is the biggest single amount of money you have given to a charity of your choice?

The most important thing is to be a cheerful giver.

Instead of giving money, I give my time. For the last charity I helped, I donated my computer skills. I helped an organization that builds schools in the poor parts of China. They had a charity concert last month. They wanted to include video of the poor students and schools during the concert. I edited the video/presentation with FCP and helped setup the concert. I'd probably would have charged around $1,600 if they weren't a charity.

$20 to the Humane society, and I'm not braggin 'cause that's nothing to brag about.
Wish i could give more but alas, I am a student.
Also, I guess if you add up all the money I've spent on those boxes of chocolate covered almonds for the hospitals, quite a bit.

a lot. Mainly Safe Place, the local battered women's shelter. It's not like I keep track of it. We mostly do in-kind donation of services, though, and not cash, so it's hard to put a real monetary value on it (cost? or actual retail mark-up of said services?)
I sent some books to a teacher a couple weeks ago, because his public school library apparently doesn't know what the things are.

Not a big deal, but today I gave 10 to a Senegalese friend of mine, in change of a model-elephant "that his sister had made" (hmm... hmm...). Of course, because I know that he needed the money.
Really pitiful situation, that of those African immigrants in Europe...

Your constant attacks on iWrite are uncalled for.
They make you seem bitter and jealous.
Lighten up man.

I give money, but I wont tell how much!
Can we consider student loans as being given to charitable causes? If so I give 80% of my income!
