So how can this be done?
i have a DVD Image of a PAL movie from the UK, that i'd like to burn to DVD-R but it is NTSC, and thus can't play it onmy DVD player.

I assume it's a process of extracting the video then re-encoding it? or is there an option for it to be converted in like Popcorn or Toast

thanks in advanced.

Hi Solid,

afaik, a video standard conversion with a muxxed file cannot be done.
the long way:

convert your video_ts with mpeg2streamclip (free, but the QT mpeg2 playback plug-in 20$needed) into a .dv file
http://www.alfanet.it/squared5/mpegstreamclip.html
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/mpeg2playback/

convert the video system with JES Deinterlacer (free) from PAL>>NTSC
http://home.planet.nl/~jeschot/

convert the PAL dv into a DVD (any tool you prefer)

Have you ever tried a PAL dvd in your player? If the region code is not a problem then you would be suprise how many players play PAL video (colors may be a lil washed out though)

Streamclip is a great application. I've had it convert stuff I couldn't get anything else to convert.

You can also use it to convert to a .mov file and then use Toast to make a DVD. I'm in the process of doing it right now.
