I guess I ultimately think this is a good idea, but I can't help but escape the "and if you don't consume enough, well then **** those charities" implication.
It really hit me with the Walgreens "get a flu shot, we donate a flu shot to a child in need".
Same thing. You don't buy? **** that child.

You're overthinking it. "Buy/get your shot/whatever and we'll donate..." is an attention getter for you to participate, that's all. Self guilt isn't something that comes with the package...you add that yourself.
I (kinda) regularly donate blood, and sometimes when I notice "oops, I could have donated a week ago," I feel a little bad. THAT's a different thing though, I'm not being asked to buy anything, I'm supplying an essential element for someone to recover better and quicker from some sort of injury or illness. And the guilt for being late is purely self induced.
