I have made a simple game... its basically a circle that moves around based on the keyboard. Its simple enough for beginners to get the hang of developing and to turn it into something cool.

I don't mind helping as I too want to become a better mac game programmer (I write pc apps all day).

What is the best way to get the code out there... get submissions from others, etc?

Or visit a language-specific community (Flash Actionscript, Cocoa, etc.) depending on how you programmed it.

There's also an Apple game-dev mailing list you can find on the apple.com site.

What language did you write it in? If Cocoa, it would be useful to many if you posted it to http://www.cocoadev.com/

its not really a game... just shows you how to catch keyboard events and redraw the graphic efficiently... i'll get it up as soon as i can.

ok... on the new 12" powerbook... a bit faster than my old Lombard

Here is the link to SimpleSquare. Use the arrows to move it around.

Let me know if this is too simple.

I made a source forge account... once i figure out cvs i'll add my enhancements.

i'd love to have an engine for atari-like side scrollers, turned based games and rts.

i figure i can start with the side scroller since that seems the easiest... maybe make a game like river raid.

here is the link..

http://sourceforge.net/projects/m2gc/

if someone has messed with sf before let me know
