After being tempted to buy a Quicksilver 867Mhz(apple store) and a 17" CRT Studio Display (ADC)(at circuit city). I called Apple to see if they would be compatible. The support person I talked to said he just read this morning that they arent compatible together.
Only if you get an ATI card is the Quicksilver compatible. Which there is no option for the ATI Radeon.
He mentioned that the Gforce cards are optimized for the shipping displays at the current time. So only the flat panels will work with Quicksilver.
What a bummer huh.. now im forced to spend $500 more on the 17" flat panel.. $499 compared to $999.

You don't have to buy the 17"LCD, you can buy the 15"LCD which gives you the same resolution as the 17"CRT, the sharpness of the LCD very well compensates for the size of the screen.
The LCD is a very sharp monitor.

This has been resolved elsewhere. Of course the GeForce cards (all of them) have VGA connectors as well.

Damn! I'll be buying a simular system, and I want to buy the Apple CRT monitor. I don't know which graphics card I'll be using but it'll probobly be the GeForce 2MX that comes with it, and then I'll upgrade to an newer ATI or nVidia card. Will I definatly not be able to use the CRT?
