It's OK. I am running it on a DP450 G4/512MB and it plays basically like a Playstation (at least with the games I play). It does not do any 3D graphic acceleration, like Bleem does. I did hear a rumor that the next release would, though. It's cheap enough so it's not a huge investment - make sure to check the Connectix website for compatibility with the games you play before you purchase.

Go to connectic.com and try the demo. I use it and I think it runs well. I am a little disapointed though that they do not have more Square RPG games that are compatible with it considering that is the main reason to own a Playstation. The demo lets you play any game but you cannot save.

I run VGS 1.4 on an imac DVSE 9.0, as advised check there site for a list of compatible games and the free demo of cause, Gran Turismo 2, and Tony Hawks 1,both run at about 90%, as far as overall quality goes, However if youve got iTunes you'll find conflicts, the iTunes extention inhibits your OS from recognising PSX CDs, disable this extention when running VGS.

Its worth it because you can play the best game of all time:

Metal Gear Solid

And the best racing game of all time:

Gran Turismo (1 & 2)

So, considering both of those completely AWESOME games work on it fine, it is a HUGE DEAL, especially once you get a crack so you can play your 'backup' versions, that way you can keep your originals ina safe place, like in a plastic case at Blockbuster video....

You need to upgrade your VGS ruddiger. Mine did that with 1.2 and 1.3, but 1.4 fixes that, and its much more enjoyable now.

Which iTunes extension? I cannot figure out which one is conflicting. My VGS just will not run after I have installed iTunes!!!

Update: After surfing for more info, I have found that it is the Apple CD/DVD Driver 1.4.3 that is installed with iTunes. I have also read that reverting to Apple CD/DVD Driver 1.3.5 resolves the issue.

My question now is: How do I find a copy of the old driver? I cannot seem to find it on my OS 9.0.4 CD.

VGS runs pretty well on my RevA iMac 233 160MB RAM. I also have a Gamewizard Voodoo2 card.... when is connectix going to update VGS so that it can take advantage of graphics accelerators? They haven't had a major update in a LONG time.

WooHoo!

I got VGS yesterday and it kicks!

And I've got a backup copy of Gran Turismo 2. And it works. I am happy.
Graphics are a little blocky, but goddamn it's fast, even on my iMacDv, 64mb ram.

hehe. Time to borrow some PSX cd's from my playstation owning friends.

And I've ordered a controller. Yeah man!

iMac: the little computer that could
