iPhone vs. iPod Touch OS differences

So far I have noticed the iPod touch does a few things better than the iPhone. Hopefully the iPhone will get these features also in the next update.
1) More keyboard support.
2) Double clicking the home button even in keylock will allow you to adjust the song/volume.
3) 10.5 style Dock. Just a matter of taste. I like it better.

I think it's going to be very interesting once they are in the hands of hackers that will REALLY be able to tell the difference between the two. I'm just praying the platform is almost identical to the point where anyone can transfer apps from the iPhone to the iPod touch.
Prediction: Mail.app will be ported day one.

I am confident the iPod Touch is showing what the iPhone first major update will show. Neither is released yet (iPod Touch nor the iPhone Update).

Doubtful.
When Leopard comes out, making iPhone and iPod touch resemble the Mac OS as closely as possible is a completely logical and basic exercise in corporate branding.
Functionally, they're also very similar - the Dock and the bottom bar are launchers for your most-used apps, and they don't really differentiate between running and non-running apps at all.

I hope that the OS's are similar enough to put iPhone hack apps on it, that would be awesome.

I also think it's much, much better. It's a direct analogue of the 10.5 Dock, whereas the one currently on the iPhone initially makes me think of widgets, which they're not.
If the iPhone doesn't get the dock updated, I'll likely fake it myself when I get it...

What about on-the-go playlists ??? can you make does on the Touch/iPhone ??? I use that feature all the time on my current iPod.
