Hello fellow mac forumers
I'm new here and I just love the helpful community here!
I have a simple question on iPhoto...
I've just imported my pictures from my PC to my mac and all my files are categorized neatly in folders. What I've been trying to do is to put these photos into iPhoto but I don't want iPhoto to create pictures both in the iPhoto library and in my original imported pictures from my PC. I've tried to untick the option under advanced to disallow iPhoto to copy files into the library, but that doesn't seem to help when I import pictures from finder into the library.
Whether I untick or tick the option under advanced, I still find my imported pictures stored in my iPhoto library, under the data folder.
One solution is to deleted my original files from finder and keep the ones in the iPhoto library, but I don't seem to appreciate this solution.
Any help on this please?

DO NOT MESS WITH PHOTOS IN THE FINDER! I cannot be strong enough in saying that! Your photos in finder are the photos that iPhoto pulls up when you look at them in iPhoto. It is the way iPhoto organizes and needs to be left alone. If you delete photos in finder, you will be deleting them from iPhoto. Plain and simple. Pretend that file does not exist and do everything with your photos directly from the iPhoto app. You WILL create havoc if you start messing with the library in finder.
