Probably because the iMac is just so much nicer than the eMac, although more expensive.

That's a really sweet lab.

Too bad the current iMac form factor is probably going to be gone soon...

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Ha ha... I guess my job has programmed me to eliminate the word "nicer" from my vocabulary.

The most bang for the buck is the phrase of the day.

why would someone at indiana univeristy have photos on their site of a mac lab in tokyo? i see that class is mostly asian, so? take a snap shot of our labs here at my job and it would be the same ethnic group...but that doesn't mean these labs are from a tokyo school.

The Ontario College of Art & Design has similarly rigged rooms.... As to why they didn't go with eMacs? Having owned one and used one myself, that would be a VERY noisy room.

Actually at the university of Maine they have a clause that states that any new computer bought has to be accompanied with a flat panel. Granted if you need to have a CRT for art design and such the computer store will sell you one, but flat panels are strongly recommended. Its due to the fact that flat panels use less power over their life spans compared to CRTs and the extra cost of the flat panel will pay for is self compared to the power consumption of a CRT.
