Yup it's that time of the year again. Pretty noisy these bastards when you are trying to work:
That one coming towards us?
I think it might...
Vroom!
Wave and smile!
And passing…
Into the city…
Afterburnas!!
Yes, they really do fly between the highrises

You're lucky he wasn't doing 341M /s, or you'd have been wearing glass.

Air show?
We get fighters and mostly flying guns, I mean A-10s, overhead year round. Plus the occasional bear in the air in the middle of the gd night.

Wow, I'm surprised the F-111 is still in service somewhere. And it's beautiful where you live.

Yes. They may be old and decrepit, but at least we have some
It is darn beautiful here indeed. Good place to live and work. Even with all these jets and copters flying by

With all that coastline it wouldn't be too hard, unfortunately Hong Kong doesn't have much of a Military since 1997, our current tactic is flooding your markets with dangerous children's toys.

It really is good to see Aardvarks still flying.
I remember helping out the ground servicing of an Aussie F-111. There was a reconnaissance competition held at Bergstrom AFB (which is not Austin-Bergstrom International Airport) back in 1986, and we had Air Force, Navy, and Marine teams and competitors from Germany and Australia. As it turns out, I was the only person on the flightline at the time who could reach high enough to put the tube covers on the 111! Those Aussie flightcrews were...interesting. They seemed to like Texas.
Shaddim, just about everywhere has rules about where you can and can't fly at various speeds. Since almost all of those pictures show the F-111 with its wings extended, it must have been flying fairly slowly. In the last picture, with the wings swept, they appear to be headed out to sea, and probably couldn't get up to a significant Mach number for quite a while. Not that your statement is wrong-that sonic shockwave can do some impressive damage-it's just that in this case it looks like the aircraft is "friendly" and the pilot is "playing nice." Good thing, too!

Just reminded me of an idiot who decided to buzz the tower in Homestead, at just north of mach 1 (well, not buzzing, but close enough to break the windows) and deafen 300 people on the ground. I was on the far side of the base and it sounded like a bomb had gone off. I don't think he ever flew again.
Seeing one like this (wings swept back) would make me nervous:
Those suckers can easily do M2.5 at 20K feet and M1.2 at sea level. Not bad for a 40 y/o design.

Some fighter jets blew out some windows at the Ft. Laud Airshow a few years ago, they've since changed their flight patterns a little for the show. : \

I have no idea why but I saw a fighter jet of some design flying circles around Long Island last week. Too bad you can't tell what it is from a cell phone pic, only that it doesn't belong.
Awesome pics btw.
