Here are some pix of Apple's strange new shop on 5th Ave, NYC. If you have any pix yourself, post them.

How will handicapped people enter the store? How will they clean the roof?

I wouldn't be surprised if that column in the middle of the spiral staircase is also an elevator shaft.

As for myself, I live nearby so I'll check out the store soon, but definitely not tommorow since it's going to be bananas.

"hahah...i'm gonna go there!...i know excatly where that is.....hahah loser!

I'm gonna take photos infront of it giving you the finger......or pulling down my pants and pressing my ass up against the glass.

my ass print will be on the apple store, not yours!"

Nice

Alright everyone. Be on the look-out for SWG's hot sister in NYC.

SWG, how come your sister is cooler than you when it comes to Mac stuff?

I can see this becoming a new hobby. A lot of people are going to be arrested for this probably.

How is she cooler than me? I am the one that gives her ALL of her Mac stuff.

I gave her my G4 Cube, my G3 tower, bought her a 1G iPod, then a Nano.

She is decked out thanks to me!

For ass printing the AppleStore?

Watch my sister be the first to get arrested for it, I wouldn't put it past her.

Are those staircases slippery when they're wet? I'd be worried about falling down two storries of stares when it's raining.

So the fountain isn't even on yet in those pics. In the end it will look like it is floating on water.

The official Apple Jesus store.

Well, if the whole store is going to be surrounded by water, then I suppose that takes care of the problem with anybody putting their asses on the glass.

That's the most beautiful retail space I've ever seen. Just gorgeous.

Did I read somewhere people protested this or some zoning types were against it?

It's fitting how on the day Apple unveils this extravagent and costly shrine to itself, investors sold off a whopping 3.19% of AAPL

Ya but I think that is what those little poles are around the base though. Not like they look like they will help much but the stairs up to the cube might also help.

These were taken by me, at exactly 6:00 PM today.

Lots and lots of people. No, I did not stand in line or attempt to stand in line. I'll check it out sometime (much) later tonight.

I went there after work and the line was literally wrapping all the way around the block until it touched the beginning on the other side. That is in addition to the mass of people waiting in front. I got in line for about 45 minutes before I got lazy and just decided to go home and come back some other time. I decided a 4 hour wait in my work clothes wasn't worth a commemoritive T-shirt. I just hope Apple doesn't surprise everyone with a free MBP for the 1st 2,500 people.

Amazing really, all these people for the opening of a computer store--a computer store! Apple sure has come a long way.
