I want to add an analog video input source to my iMac. I see a lot of devices for importing video but they aren't true "video capture devices".

For example, I own the eyeTV Hybrid by Elgato. It's a nifty little USB device that can record analog and over-the-air HD video. It's like a little PVR for the Mac. However, it only works with its own software. It doesn't show up as a video source in Quicktime Pro or any other video capture or webcam software.

I also own Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge. It's basically a device that takes analog inputs and converts it to DV. This *DOES* work but the unit is old (from 2001), the video is dark and the unit is flakey. I want a new, more reliable USB 2.0 option.

I have an iMac so real video capture cards aren't an option. Any suggestions?
