So I am basically waiting for the next version of the Mac mini.
What can I use it for when streaming to my Sony Bravia 42" HDMI connection HDTV?
Do I have to do a lot out of the box? Or is it just DVI that puppy up and go?

If you go to htguys.com. One of the guys uses a few mac minis for his home theater setup.

You also need an audio cable, either optical (with a $3 TOSlink adapter for the Mac mini), if the TV offers optical digital input, or analog.

I looked at doing this for my HT setup...Intel Mac Mini running XBMC but i had some concerns about the onboard video setup, plus I'd have to immediately add hard drive space and some other things so I ended up just building a HTPC running Vista instead. Still, if youre looking for small and unobtrusive its not a bad way to go.
I was actually just reading a blog the other day about a guy who's running Vista on his Mac Mini as his sole home theatre setup...it was pretty damn nice.
