I've tried Gimp, gotten the latest drivers from Epson, but every time I print from Photoshop my pictures are posterized with magenta. They look lovely in photoshop (7.0), then I do a print->preview and it's all magenta. Multiple files, all get tinted magenta.

I have tweaked every setting twice (paper settings, output settings, color management, etc.) and it is quite amazing how htey have absolutely NO effect on the print preview whatsoever. Any ideas? I am at a loss. Does anyone know where the "posterize with magenta" button is in Photoshop so I can uncheck it?!

Just wondering: Does it also actually print with the Magenta look, or is that just on the on-screen preview?

Hello!!! Thanks so much for the reply!! Yes, it DOES print magenta. If I print out of the Film Factory, it prints OK, but looks all "digital camera-y" - very greenish, not great image editing tools in Film Factory. Which is why I desperately want Photoshop to work... ANY ideas? i am at a complete loss.

do you have photoshop's color management feature on or off? I usually have mine off because I prefer to work from a clean unaltered file in case I need to send the photos for real photo work (i usually do low res comps that the real people then match)

Photoshop asks if I want to use its built in profile or the photos profile, I always say keep the photo's profile.

If that doesn't work then trash your photoshop and its prefs and reinstall.

Also, have you tried placing the image in illustrator, quark or indesign? I never print from photoshop because it does not seem to work very well. Is it just me?

Well, I have tried printing with color matching on and with color matching off - no difference in output whatsoever... As well as remapping the colors on Open, and not remapping colors on Open. The weirdest thing is, the file looks great IN Photoshop.

I have successfully printed non-magenta versions from other apps, but I'd really like to be able to enhance my photos with Photoshop's tools... as I am not yet a pro at taking fabulous pictures yet. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those other programs to try, but I'd assume they would do what Film Factory currently does - which isn't allowing me to color correct well enough (I need curves and levels).

Where are Photoshop's prefs under Jaguar?
