"called HP's Customer Care Line for DeskJet printers. The HP representative confirmed what I had believed: A manufacturer defect of the printer that causes it not to communicate with the Mac. According to the representative, HP's hardware engineers changed the firmware of the 935C which was based on the 932C. He said HP's software engineers simply bundled the 930 series drivers they already had. He said unfortunately the current 930 series drivers doesn't work with the changed firmware of the 935C. [...] Today, the HP rep informed me that the printers had been recalled and would be re-released again later in probably a couple of weeks."
above is taken from another great Mac-centric site.
this is all too typical of HP and their horrid lack of support (updated drivers, or even proper ones in the first d*** place) for Mac.
my sister has an HP deskjet and when MacOS 9 came out it, it took forever for HP to come up with new drivers... all the info HP needed to write these new drivers was available to them months before OS 9 came out... looks like HP is continuing to be disgraceful in this aspect... and who cares how good the printer is if the driver is nfg?
