I've ordered a 1.5 15" Powerbook that should arrive by Wed and want to upgrade the ram ASAP. My question is has anyone ran Corsair Value Select ram in thier PBs? Next question is can I run PC3200 ram in it? This is the PC3200 compared to the PC2700 that I'm looking at. If PC2700 is the only thing that will work, I could just spend the extra $5 and go with the Crucial. I come from the PC world, where IMO Corsair ram is the best, and I just want to make sure that I'm ordering the correct speed and that it will work.

I've never even heard of Corsair, but as far as speeds go, a search in the forum will prove wonders. You can always use faster speed RAM. It will run slower to accomodate the machine is in. The only speed you can't run is slower speed. PC2100 will not work in any current machines because they require at least PC2700.

Thanks for the feedback Steve. Never heard of Corsair, huh? Must not be a big seller in the Mac world. IMHO it's the ONLY ram to get if you're in the PC world.

For those of you still looking...Anandtech has a great article on ram for any of the newer Macs.

I found KingMax 1GB sticks for $153. Come highly recommended.

I ordered 2 sticks to put in my 1.25 15". They should be here tomorrow.

I found them on Newegg.com:
