Do the superdrives on the new Powerbook burn DVD-RWs as well as DVD-Rs? I ask because the info provided on the Apple site only mentions DVD-R. The info for iMacs only mentions DVD-R also, but I know for a fact they burn DVD-RWs as well.

Thanks,
Aaron

Yes. According to another thread, one must trick the machine into burning onto a DVD-RW by swapping out a DVD-R disk for a DVD-RW disk while the machine is encoding the video in iDVD. Perhaps Apple will release firmware to make it recognize DVD-RW media without tricking the machine sometime soon.

They should, i know the PMs do. Apple doesn't support the feature will not therefore announce it as a feature.

Well then, what about for backing up data? seems like the most valuable feature of DVD-RW burning would be for backing up User folders or documents, obviously outside of iDVD.

Are you saying that DVD-RWs won't work in the Finder/Disc Burner? will they work in Toast, maybe?

TIA.

I don't know if they would work in Disc Burner, but they work in Toast.
