Yah, It was awesome.

Oh, and I took my Pa to see the Skills challenge and the All-Star game that year too.

And yah, it was awesome as well.

I'm SO happy the Sens won tonight. They finally got a game they well deserved!

Toronto have been outplayed every game in the series besides the second one, and even then the Sens had more shots on goal (fewer quality ones, though). I believe the Senators are a better team, and so far they've played like it. If Belfour continues to be only ordinary like in tonight's game, and the rest of the Leafs don't pick it up, the Sens would be deserving of the series.

On that note, how about Aebischer tonight?!?! 41 shots, baby, and steals it! What a guy...Roy should be proud....

Props to the Sharks.

If had to build a hockey team, I'd build it like the Sens. But a close second would be the Sharks. Very very fast team. Reminds me of the 2000 Blues when we won the President's Trophy and lost in the first round to the Sharks...no grit but ridiculously exciting to watch. I think if the Sharks have to play a team like Colorado, they won't be able to survive. The Avs can skate with the Sharks and they have a bunch of big bodies on the blue line and up front. Now that the Blues are out I think that "ABD" is in full swing for me (Anyone But Detroit). Ideally I'd like to have Colorado out of the West and Ottawa out of the east with the Sens winning it all.

BTW, good for the Habs. Came out and kicked some ass.

Well, another great Sharks/Blues series has come to an end. These two teams definitely seem to bring out the best in each other, and it always makes for an exciting series.

I'm not going to be quick to analyze the Sharks next potential opponents (ahem, but please don't let it be Dallas, ahem) because, honestly, this team has surprised me at every turn this year. I was bitter after the team's dismantling last year, which I felt was shortsighted. But this team really has heart and personality and I'll be the first to admit that I never expected them to do so well, and I'm still not really sure how they're pulling it off. They just know how to do all the right things to win. I think they'll be tough opponents for whoever they come up against.

I also like the Sens and would like to see either them or the Flyers out of the East. But I'm not sure the Sens have proven that they really have what it takes to win in the playoffs... They are, however, the most talented team in the NHL, no question in my mind.

Watched Coach's Corner replay the singing of the Canadian national anthem to open the game last night. The fans in Boston gave our anthem a standing ovation. Classy bunch in Beantown!

Meanwhile, it's 0-0 here at game five of the battle of Ontario. Leafs are in a tight checking game without their best player. Nice to see Newiendyk back in there. Maybe Sundin'll have healed sufficiently by the third period!

Salutations from the land of spoiled & ignorant hockey fans. Before the series started many were picking the Avs to lose the series in 5 or 6. Now that the Avs are up 3 games to one, people here are bitching because the Avs aren't winning convincingly enough.

Figure this stems from the Avs losing in the first round last season and not winning their division for the first time in 9 years. Wah. So the avs go into the playoffs seeded (Gasp) fourth.

What can I say... they sell white wine at the games. Disgusting. Morons.

Rant over.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

goddamn leafs. I really want to see a Canadian team win it all, but I really want it to be the Sens. If they beat the Leafs, I'm going to have to cheer for the Leafs.

I hate when two Canadian teams have to play in the first round (OTT/TOR and VAN/CGY), really minimizes the chances of that team advancing since the series is usually really emotional.

I was out at the Duke on Yonge St. last night to watch the Leafs/Senators game. Stayed til 10:30 or so to see the end of the other game, and went to walk home.

It was as if the Leafs had won the friggin' Cup! People were driving up and down Yonge honking and waving flags; insane! Geez, they won a single game in the opening round, and people are going nuts. If they actually won the Cup, I think downtown will be flattened and the whole city shut down for 2 days
The Lord said 'Peter, I can see your house from here.'

Let us hope we don't see any faked injuries today. I can understand embellishing a hit, but when you barely get tapped and then fall the ground rolling around in pain its just not cool. There have been atleast 3 times in the series where the canadian players looked like they needed to be taken off in stretchers and then got up and laughed. And now the refs are really reluctant to blow the whistle when they go down. I am just waiting for them to not call the play dead when someone actually does get hurt, maybe that will open their eyes.

And lets hope they don't boo the national anthem again. They make canadians look bad.

Well, bye-bye to the Isles and now the Devils. No repeat this year
San Jose looks like a solid team. So do Denver and Philly. The Lighting I'm not so sure about. They played mediocre games against a sub-par Islanders team, from what I saw.
The Bruins - Canadiens and Senators - Maple Leafs series are great fun to watch. Too bad they're 1st-round matchups.
