I'm making this composition for school, but we have to use Acid (a program on the school's PC) - there are plenty of loops for it, but there are a few from Garageband that I would love to have over there for me to use (this is all personal use, wouldn't leave it on the school computer or anything)

Anyone know how to go about burning the loops and then putting them on the PC in the correct format?

They're in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand.

You *might* have to convert the .aif files to .wav if Acid is format-stupid (AIFF is a standard audio format, but you never know...).

iTunes will convert them - the Import settings include a WAV coder.

You could also probably use QTAmateur's batch convert if you don't want to clutter up your iTunes library.

FYI...

Starting with iLife '08, the loops are now CAF (Core Audio File, I believe) files. I don't know if iTunes or QuickTime can convert them easily or not.

Didn't even see your post until just now; I came in here to say that the files are not .aif, they are Core Audio files (.caf)... no idea how to either convert these for windows, or allow windows to view them (some sort of windows software? VLC doesn't seem to work...)

Anyone have an idea?

If you only have a few you could load them into GB and then export them in the format you want them.
I think DBPoweramp on the pc might accept them and batch convert, too.

Don't know about everyone else, but for me they opened by default in Quicktime...

On OS X. But you could then use QTAmateur to batch-convert to wav.
