my dad gave me his sony clie peg-tg50/u. The problem is, I didn't get any thing with it except a car charger with a cradle. I erased all the other stuff my dad had on it (contacts, added applications, etc.) So now, what do I need to do and what software/hardware do I need to get so it is like it was "just out of the box?"

you need missing sync to sync a clie with a mac:

http://missingsync.com/

other than that, you need to hard reset the device to get it back to factory state, though this will not include the bundled 3rd party software which you need to install from a Win install CD.

to hard reset, insert a paper clip in the reset hole while holding the power button for 3 seconds. release, then press up to erase all data.

Nice PDA. Very nice.

Like Casper said, a hard reset would help, and sorry if this is a silly question, but have you checked Sony's Web site? They may have some information.

Other than that, I second Missing Sync. I use it for my Palm T3, and it syncs with all my iApps flawlessly.

You also might want to hit the Brighthand boards and ask around.
