Formula 4: British driver Billy Monger has legs amputated - BBC News
He went into the back of another car in a race on Sunday. It took some time to get him out of the car, and his lower legs were amputated later. He's just been woken from an induced coma.
There is a donation page set up for him, it was set up yesterday and is currently very close to raising £500,000. Jenson Button, Max Verstappen, Red Bull and Porsche racing have all donated, I've done my bit there too. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfund...=Billymonger23
I haven't seen the crash, and i don't want to, it's on YouTube. He's getting a lot of support, and i hope he's able to carry on in motorsport somehow. Alex Zanardi would be one of many to look up to in his situation now.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I've seen the crash (it's from Monger's in-car camera) It's pretty nasty. Apparently, a car had slowed/stalled on-course and the cars ahead of Monger moved to avoid it and Monger didn't see it in time and hit it full speed. It's like, you see the car and the next split-second you're into it. Terrible.

Apparently Lewis Hamilton has a brother with CF who drives an adapted car. He's been in touch.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Very sad. Most other kids that age barely have their drivers license.
