I have a older PB that I use for school / study. Since I hate lugging textbooks around I have pdf's of large textbooks that I keep on the PB for reference. When I first installed leopard "mdworker " and ATTServer popped up to index it. OK I thought I was done. but it seems that my CPU gets pinned because of the same two commands - everytime - I open the same pdf?

I thought indexing should place once?

Someone else had the same problem. I suggested trying Adobe Reader instead.

problem is that adobe does not have spotlight built in. For example, If I need to find a specific drug spotlight is really nice but waiting 5 minutes for the 500 page pdf to re-index itself in preview (cpu @ 100% and beachball) is pure frustration.

I downloaded adobe reader and once again mdworker and attserver came up pinned the cpu and the adobe started its search. IMO adobe's search is more archaic then spotlight (think MS search in xp and 98 - slowly chugging through each page - for every search). I wonder if this a bug in leopard or its that I'm running a g4....
