I'm experiencing an odd issue to my years old internet set up. Baffling as tyo why it's acting up after years of the same configuration.
I have a Motorola Surfboard cable modem, which is connected to an Airport Extreme. I also have a second Airport Extreme in another room, set up as a remote. (Both are set up for WDS.) This has been in place for a couple of years. Last week, the cable modem status lights would randomly change, indicating some sort of connectivity issue. The SEND light would flash on and off, and the ONLINE light would not be lit at all. The weird thing is both wired and wireless connectivity to the web continues to work just fine. I called the cable company, who said the signal is fine and shows the modem working. They also said that wireless routers will often cause this problem (after 2 years???).
You can see a short clip of the modem here: http://web.me.com/tonewheel/Motorola_Surfboard_Modem
I'd sure appreciate any thoughts, advice, etc.
Thanks!!

If it's not causing any issues, my guess is the cable co pushed some software or firmware update to your modem, which now causes it to blink like that.
You could attempt a factory reset of the modem; see what happens.
