Hi,

In Mac Pros what is this heatsink for ? What is under it, is more to the point.
It is in front of the CPUs in the Mac Pro and yes, I did remove the dust



Next question . .

What is this socket for? It is below DIMM riser B in my Mac Pro.

Hot and near the CPU socket -> PWM circuitry for the CPU

I don't know about the second one.

The second one is for a modem.

There's no internal dialup modem available for any Intel Mac.
