My subie has 175k on it and runs like it's brand new, save for the rusty exhaust.

Well, I've decided to go for the Mazda3 after all, specifically the four door hatchback (with 2.3L, 160hp engine).

That's pretty pathetic. Old neons made 150hp with 2 liters.

Nice choice! If I were in the market for a car the mazda 3 would be at the top of my list. I like the extra cargo room of the hatchback.

I bet they didn't get 26mpg city, 34mpg highway though. Nor did they probably have the same emissions requirements. Oh, and **** you.

Well thanks. I haven't bought it yet though. That comes next weekend. A whole week away! Gah!
At $18,800, I'll be getting leather, ABS w/break pressure distributor system thingy, side airbags, premium audio package. They start pretty high and I'm wondering how it's gonna turn out after taxes. Close to $20,100 I calculate.

Black to go with black leather and dark charcoal interior. The interior has red highlights, but over all it'll be something of a gangster car, especially if I go with a tint.

You're correct. With a 5spd they get 27-32mpg in the city, and up to 43 on the highway. 1/4 mile in the 15s, and great handling. Zoom zoom.

I noticed the paint starts to peel off to reveal the undercoat on some older Neons. I hope Chrysler QC has improved cause they are making some intresting cars these days.

And that neon was either Lapis Blue or White, wasn't it? Those were the only colors that suffered this defect, and if you bitch enough to the dealer you get it repainted free.
- Rob
PS: Chrysler's paint is fine, it was just those two colors on just that model.
