This weekend, a friend of mine went out and got iLife and he was griping about how loud the dvd was when he put it in his iMac, I thought nothing of it and said, ah its prob just out of the blue type thing, and then today when I got the mini which comes with iLife 05, I put the dvd to install it, thing sounded like a monster, VERY loud, tested an audio cd in the mini and it didn't make that noise, then tried the iLife dvd in my iMac, once again thing sounded loud, like it was a warped cd or something.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Its probably taking a whole lot of data off of the iLife DVD so it needs to spin it very fast. Where as a music CD doesn't require it to spin very fast at all to keep the music going.
