I have the new 2.5 G5 and find that my old canon scanner does not work in OSX. I would like to get one to replace it that is light and has the USB connection. I want it to be able to scan pictures nicely and produce good clear text also. I like the Canon line.
I would like recommendations, any brand.
I want to stay below $150, if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I want a nice Firewire scanner. Small, not to expensive. I need to scan in a whole bunch of photos for my parents. Eventually.

Since I originally posted the question, I have done a lot of searching and think I will probably buy the Canoscan LIDE 80. It is nice and thin, does all I need (photos, film and text) and has great reviews. It will cost about $110 with discounts.
If anyone owns one, please give your review of it.

Firewire scanners are normally large and expensive. Have a look at a USB 2.0 scanner as they are smaller and cheaper.
