I found this video online and I can play it within Safari. However, I'd like to record it to my HD. However, when I go into QuickTime and try to open the URL, I get an error telling me it's not a file that QT understands. This seems weird since when I go to the site in Safari, it has the QT logo and says I may need to download QT to view it!

What gives?

(By the way I don't have QT Pro yet, but I understand I may have to buy it unless someone knows of a better/cheaper way for me to get a copy of this video)

First, you need to view the source in order to get the correct file path. If you are trying to open the link you supplied, of course QT is not going to be able to open it. It's an html file. You need the link to the embedded QT movie. And you don't need QT Pro.

Plays fine for me in QT 7.

...weird. quadruple post. Anyways, thank you. However, I can't get the .mov to open after saving it from Safari (it's only saving a 28kb file when I know from trying to load it in Exploder that it's 30.8mb).

Try opening the Downloads window in Safari and then dragging/dropping that link I posted onto it. I just tried it and a 30+ meg file started downloading.
